From Monday 6th July 2020, Crocus Contractors will recommence reactive solar panel maintenance to Saffron’s tenant’s homes.
If an issue has been identified with your system, you will be contacted by Crocus Contractors in the first instance and then our approved contractor Spartek will be in touch to check it is safe to visit, and you are happy for them to attend to investigate, before booking an appointment.
They will follow all necessary Covid-19 guidelines set out by the government and Saffron.

Crocus is a wholly-owned subsidiary company of Saffron Housing Group that is focused on increasing the Group’s value and furthering its objectives. As a commercial subsidiary, Crocus brings in significant revenues which help Saffron to continue to offer our services.
Crocus has three main areas of operation:
A locally-based building company working across Norfolk and Suffolk, Crocus Homes designs and builds high quality homes.
Crocus Homes specialises in homes that provide a modern environment. Homes have generous space standards, and kitchen and bathroom designs that are future-proofed with the latest technology. The firm works closely with the local community to minimise disturbance, with homes designed to sit will within the landscape and create a strong sense of place.
Crocus Homes are highly energy efficient and built to last. Every property comes with a 10 year build warranty as standard, and has energy efficiency technology that aims to reduce waste and save money for owners.
Crocus purchased its first site in 2015: Springfield Grange in Acle, Norfolk.
At Springfield Grange, there are 24 private homes, four shared equity plots and eight affordable homes which now form part of Saffron Housing Trust’s stock.
These homes were recently completed and the private plots and shared equity homes are now all sold.
The company is now moving onto its next sites across Norfolk and Suffolk.
The next site commenced in Summer 2020 is Oak Meadow in Acle, Norfolk. This will initially comprise of 20 private plots, four shared equity and six affordable plots which again will become part of Saffron Housing Trust’s stock.
Following this there is a site in Bawdsey, Suffolk. This is a smaller site for Crocus Homes, offering homes with a more contemporary design in landscaped and spacious surroundings. There will be 13 plots in total consisting of nine private plots, one shared equity and three affordable rent.
Due to start within the next two years, Crocus also have a fantastic site in Coltishall, Norfolk, which is being finalised at the moment, along with several other pieces of land throughout Norfolk and Suffolk in the pipeline.
A sustainable energy company, Crocus Green manages the performance and income of around 800 solar energy arrays installed across Saffron Housing’s properties.
Crocus Green began life in 2010, when solar arrays were installed across 810 Saffron Housing homes as part of a government initiative. As well as saving money for Saffron Housing customers and reducing the demand for carbon-based energy sources, these arrays enable Crocus Green to supply surplus electricity back into the National Grid.
A health & safety and fire risk consultancy, Pye Road works in the housing and construction sectors to manage risk, and also provides specialist services to other parts of the Saffron Group.
Pye Road has been active in one form or another since 2009. The majority of the work it carries out is related to Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 or The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Pye Road has links with builders and developers across the East of England, and has established a reputation for attention-to-detail and reliability.
