Working at Saffron
We want our people to be happy, empowered, motivated and feel proud to be part of the Saffron Community. We know by having great people we can deliver a great service for our tenants.
We trust our staff to do the right thing and we are looking for people whose values are aligned with ours, PACE:
We give our people the freedom to learn, grow and invest in their skills as well as their growth for their future career aspirations. We do this by offering a variety of learning opportunities, including our innovative e-learning platform which allows people to learn what they want, when they want to.
We work with and support our staff to work in an agile way to provide flexibility as well as a work/life balance. Where the role allows, there is the choice of where you work, such as, in the office, work from home, a coffee shop, park, or a combination of all.
From application to interview, we place inclusion at the heart of all we do. We aspire to have a diverse and inclusive workplace and ensure that those from underrepresented groups receive a fair process when applying to work at Saffron. When recruiting for senior positions we guarantee an interview for a female and one person from an underrepresented group.
We are delighted to have made it onto 3 of the Best Companies to Work For lists! Our staff completed the Best Companies b-Heard survey, and their feedback means we are proud to have achieved:
- 46th in the national list = ‘Top 50 Best Large Companies’ to work for
- 17th in the regional list = ‘East of England’s top 25’ companies to work for
- 7th in the sector list = ‘Top 10 Housing Associations’ to work for
- The survey results also show we have ‘Good’ levels of workplace engagement

Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion
We offer a place where colleagues can flourish. To help achieve this, we offer a range of supportive tools and opportunities for our staff to learn about equality, diversity, and inclusion.
We offer all our staff one day to volunteer in our communities. Volunteering can take place anywhere - suggestions come from tenants or staff members. Our volunteering has included litter picks, fen management, a charity sleepout and supporting community group events. Ideas can be discussed with our Neighbourhood or Wellbeing Teams.
