Saffron celebrates National Apprenticeship Week 2020

Published: 5th February 2020

As part of this year’s National Apprenticeship Week (3rd – 7th February) some of our apprentices have been providing an insight into what it’s like to be part of Saffron.

Gemma Bambridge started with us in August 2019 as an Apprentice Administrative Assistant in Strategic Asset Management. Gemma said: “My experience with Saffron has been a huge confidence boost for me, my team put me at ease straight away, as they made me feel so welcome.”

“My apprenticeship has given me lots of new skills and has created more opportunities, such as helping various departments across Saffron, which has allowed me to gain an insight into the housing industry, as well as learning about administrative tasks. It would be fantastic to stay on after my apprenticeship and become a permanent member of staff. It just feels like family.”

Zak Skinner started with us in September last year as an Apprentice Electrician. He explains how he has support throughout the whole process: “Everyone is so friendly and helpful which creates a really positive working environment.”

Since our Apprenticeship Programme started in 2004, nearly two thirds of our apprentices have progressed to gain permanent jobs with Saffron. The programme enables you to achieve a qualification while gaining valuable hands-on skills and experience that will help you move to the next stage of your career.
