Mutual exchange helps another Saffron customer find a home.

Saffron are celebrating another mutual exchange success story, helping a customer find a new home in time for Christmas.

Emily Tibbs has currently moved back to Long Stratton from Hethersett into a property of a similar size but to be closer to where she calls home.

Emily lived in her Saffron property in Hethersett for 18 months before looking into mutual exchange. She said: “It took a week to confirm my exchange and then only 6-8 weeks to move in to my new home with Saffron keeping me up to date throughout the whole process.”

“From the moment I became a Saffron customer in 2017, I am amazed how much they have to offer and how much support there is. I am bowled over by how good it has been, and I have now found my forever home.”

Saffron are part of Housing Exchange which is a free national service. It enables people who rent their home from Saffron or another housing association or local authority to mutually exchange their home with another customer.

Debs Johnson, Saffron’s Neighbourhood Officer for the area, said: ‘Mutual Exchanges are the way for customers to move to the “right property” for them without going back on the housing register. It may be to move to a larger or small property, or the fact that someone in the family needs access all on one floor and a bungalow is what they need. Some gardens are huge, some are small, some are really easy maintenance – you’re in the driving seat; you decide where you want to live and what size you need.”

The House Exchange website can match you with other households across the UK and has a presence on a range of property and social media sites to further help your chances of finding a move. Since April 2019, Saffron has completed 47 Mutual Exchanges for its customers enabling them all to be able to find the right property to fit their needs.
