More New Homes for Norfolk - 35 new affordable rented homes for local tenants at Harleston, Norfolk
Last week, we were thrilled to take ownership of 35 new, affordable homes from developers Lovell at our Briarswood in Harleston, Norfolk.
Works started on site in May 2023, and the handover marked another important milestone for the development, as local tenants continue to move into, and enjoy their new Saffron homes on the brand-new development.
As always, partnership working has been key to reaching this point, and it was fantastic to see the site really taking shape as we support our wider commitment to providing quality, sustainable, and much needed housing for local people in our areas.
Joe Bootman, Head of Land and Planning at Saffron said “We’re delighted to take handover of the first affordable homes at Briarswood. Lovell have done an exceptional job in building them to a high-quality standard and they will provide valued homes to Saffron customers. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Lovell as the rest of the site is developed out.”
Speaking for Lovell, Simon Medler, Regional Managing Director said “We are very pleased to be working in partnership with Saffron on the development at Briarswood in Harleston, helping them deliver these much-needed high quality affordable homes for the people of Norfolk.”
A big thank you to everyone involved in getting us to this stage. Look out for further updates as the next batch of new affordable homes in Harleston are handed over to us at the end of May.
By autumn 2029, Briarswood in Harleston is set to house a range of over 400 affordable privately owned, social rented, and shared ownership 1, 2, 3, and 4 bedroomed homes, including our new purpose-built Independent Community Living Plus (ICLP) scheme.
This ICLP scheme, which has been recently named by local children as The Oaks, is our biggest to date and will provide 107 brand-new Independent Community Living homes for individuals aged 55 and over with additional care needs. Works are expected to start on the scheme next month, so a very busy summer ahead.
