On Friday 7th August, we held our first Community Action Day at Tower Close, Costessey. The day brought together tenants, colleagues and partners to provide support to the local community.
We provided 4 skips for rubbish clearance and carried out a litter pick to help clean up the estate. In addition, colleagues were on-hand to undertake small home repairs for tenants.
Also in attendance were officers from the Police Operational Partnership Team (OPT), along with the Beat Officer for Tower Close and representatives from South Norfolk Council's Housing Team. They spoke with tenants, offering advice and support on topics including anti-social behaviour and housing options.
Colleagues from teams across Saffron supported the event, giving tenants the opportunity to meet members of staff and talk about the services and support available to them.
Most importantly, we received extremely positive feedback from tenants, who appreciated the opportunity to meet staff and have a say in their community.
And, of course, no community event would be complete without refreshments. We were pleased to support a local bakery, which provided food for the day.
Neighbourhood Officer Andrew Barton said: "The day's efforts brought the local community together, helping to restore pride in their neighbourhood and build positive relationships with local partners and services."
A huge thank you to everyone who gave up their time to support the neighbourhood.
