With the election date now set for 4th July 2024, you can register to vote even if you don’t have photo ID.
A ‘Voter Authority Certificate’ can be used to prove your identity for some elections if:
- you don’t have accepted photo ID
- you no longer look like the photo on your ID
- the name on your photo ID is different to your name on the electoral register.
This is free to apply for, and you will need:
- a recent, digital photo of yourself
- your National Insurance number.
