Structural Monitoring

Structural Monitoring

Saffron Housing Trust will look into any structural issues that might arise with their properties.

Once it has been identified that there may be some issues with the structure of the building we arrange for the property to be monitored over a 12 month period.  This is so that we can take into account the seasonal changes in weather and ground conditions.  The usual way that the property is monitored is that steel discs are fixed either side of the crack so that any movement can be detected by the callipers.  This is done every 3 months over a period of 12 months.

If during this time or at the end of the 12 months there is movement, then either repairs are ordered to rectify the issue or specialist contractors are employed to identify any underlying problems and deal with them.

After these have been completed further monitoring takes place.
