Saffron Housing will also consider offering alternative solutions to meet the needs of the individual; this also includes referral for a move to a more suitable property.
If you or anyone in your household is disabled and has difficulty in getting into, or moving around your home or in accessing essential facilities within it, you should consider applying for an adaptation funded through the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) programme with your local council and in conjunction with Social Services.
Saffron Housing Trust is working with local councils and Social Services to install a wide range of adaptations to enable people to remain independent in their home.
The types of work which may be provided include:
Minor Adaptations – If your aid or adaptation is going to cost less than £500 you can get in touch with Saffron directly, who may refer you to other organisations. Depending on the aid or adaptation Saffron tries to complete these within a month.
