If you buy your flat from Saffron Housing Trust you become a leaseholder. This means that while you own the property, Saffron continues to own the land (known as the freehold).

Saffron remains responsible for the maintenance of the structure, the communal areas of the block and the estate. Under the terms of your lease, you will have to pay a service charge. This goes towards the cost of maintaining these areas, and any major works we carry out.

The Leaseholder Handbook will help you understand your and Saffron’s responsibilities, and how we calculate the annual service charge.

We calculate the service charges to ensure that every leaseholder pays a fair and reasonable proportion of the cost of providing the services referred to in the handbook.
