If you buy your flat from Saffron Housing Trust you become a leaseholder. This means that while you own the property Saffron continues to own the land (known as the freehold).
Saffron remains responsible for the maintenance of the structure, the communal areas of the block and the estate. Under the terms of your lease, you are required to pay service charges towards these costs and any major works that are carried out.
The leaseholder handbook has been produced to help leaseholders understand their own and Saffron’s responsibilities and how the annual service charges are calculated.
Services charges are calculated to ensure that every leaseholder pays a fair and reasonable proportion of the cost of providing the services referred to in the handbook.
