Housing with Support means having your own flat or bungalow in a block, or on a small estate, where most of the other residents are older or disabled people who need support. With a few exceptions, all developments or ‘schemes’ provide independent, self-contained homes with their own front doors.
The schemes range in size and include one and two bedroom flats and bungalows. Properties in most schemes are designed to make life a little easier for people – with features like raised electricity sockets, walk-in showers and so on. All homes are linked to an emergency alarm service (sometimes called ‘lifeline alarms’ or ‘community alarm service’) to call help if needed.
Schemes are covered by Housing Support Managers who manage the development and help arrange any services residents need. Managed schemes will also usually have some shared or communal facilities such as a laundry, a lounge for residents to meet in and a garden. You can see a full list of our Housing with Support schemes below, as well as a map of where they are located. You can click on the list to get more details on each individual scheme.
