Make a Stand

Published: 3rd July 2019

Last summer we proudly signed up to the Make a Stand campaign. A national campaign lead by the Chartered Institute of Housing in partnership with Women’s Aid and Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance to encourage housing organisations to make a commitment to support people experiencing domestic abuse. So far 300 plus organisations have signed up, including us.

We have been working hard behind the scenes and would now like to share with you the steps we have put in place to support this.

• A policy has been put in place to support residents who are affected by domestic abuse. This policy can be found here.
• A new page on our website has been launched where anyone can easily access information about national and local domestic abuse support services – here. As part of this page there is an exit quick button. This means that anyone looking at the information on this page will be able to exit the page immediately by clicking the button and it will not be stored in the website history. The web pages that we have linked to also have exit quickly buttons.

The Make a Stand campaign is very close to our hearts especially with our mission statement at the front of our mind; ‘To develop and manage homes across Norfolk and Suffolk for people in need and, through our services, enhance their life chances.’ Everyone should feel safe and secure in their home but, sadly, for many victims across the UK this is not the case due to domestic abuse. This is why Saffron has signed up to the pledge. So let’s Make a Stand and tackle domestic abuse.
