We are delighted to have achieved a G1/V1 judgement from the Regulator of Social Housing, demonstrating that we are well-governed and financially strong. This was following an In-Depth Assessment (IDA) of Saffron between October 2019 and January 2020.
What does the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) do?
Like every registered social housing provider, the RSH oversees how Saffron Housing operates.
The Regulator’s approach is to promote a viable, efficient and well-governed social housing sector able to deliver homes that meet a range of needs. The Regulator performs their functions in a way that minimises interference. It also aims to be proportionate, consistent, transparent and accountable in how it regulates.

How does a Consortium differ to a regulator?
Saffron is part of e² (pronounced ‘e squared’), a consortium of six housing associations from the East of England. e² works with housing associations across East Anglia to build strong and sustainable communities. While not a regulator, the consortium contributes to the training of staff, board members and non-executive directors.
