Bob Walder was announced today as Saffron Housing Trusts’ new Chair.
Bob brings a wealth of experience to Saffron and has previously worked as the CEO of Longhurst Group, one of the country’s leading housing providers, and in the non-executive roles of Vice Chair of the Ongo Partnership and Chair of Bishop Grosseteste University in Lincoln. Bob is also a key regional player, chairing and contributing to many Boards and forums across the East and Midlands, particularly in housing and education.
Having worked in the housing sector for 38 years, during his time with Longhurst Group he grew the organisation from 800 to 18,000 homes, employing 1000 staff and building 500 new homes a year.
Bob is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing and graduated in Economics and Politics at Bristol University.
Announcing the appointment, outgoing Chair, Andy Radford said “We are delighted to welcome someone with Bob’s experience and track record to lead Saffron”
