A £5million state of the art resource centre for older people, which signifies the start of a new era in care for the elderly in Norfolk has taken a step closer to fruition with the signing of an agreement between Saffron Housing Trust, Norfolk County Council and Age Concern Norfolk.

Pilot project success

A pilot project to help adults with learning difficulties live independently in the community has got off to a successful start. The scheme is aimed specifically at adults who would like the opportunity of a home of their own, having been cared for by their parents all their lives. The idea is also welcomed by the parents concerned who recognise that provision needs to be made for the future when they may no longer be able to look after their son or daughter.

Everybody needs good neighbours and Saffron Housing Trust is proving to be a good neighbour to Nelson Lodge, a short stay respite care centre for children located next door to Saffron’s office in Long Stratton.
