Home Options for people with Long term Difficulties

A relatively new initiative, shared ownership uses Government grants and welfare benefits to assist people with disabilities and support needs to purchase their own home.

Shared Ownership is where a part of the house is owned by the applicant and the other part is owned by Saffron Housing Trust. Choices and decisions about the house are left in the applicant's control.

Saffron will charge rent on the part of the house we own and if eligible the applicant can apply for Housing benefit and if eligible Housing Benefit should cover the rent.

Saffron charges a weekly service charge to cover the costs of repairs and maintenance.

Please contact Saffron Housing Trust on (01508) 532045 for the latest news regarding grant funding and mortgage availibilty for the scheme.
