Each unit is fitted with a communication system which allows two-way speech between the manager and the resident. For emergency use, pull cords are fitted in the bungalows and residents are also issued with an individual pendant. When the scheme manager is off duty, any emergency calls will be answered by an external call centre which is managed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The communal facilities consist of a kitchen, communal room, library, laundry (for residents), computer room, managers office and a garden area. It is next to an Age Concern Day Centre.

The main shopping area of Diss is a few minutes walk away. There are three supermarkets as well as many small stores. Friday is market day and is very popular. The town is served by several bus companies as well as the door to door service of the Borderhoppa bus which needs to be booked in advance. The train station is close by and has the main Norwich to London line.

Nearby in Vinces Road there is a fruit and vegetable store, open in the mornings of Monday to Saturday. The nearby Shell garage also stocks some grocery items and newspapers.
