Oak Tree Place

Oak Tree Place is a sheltered housing scheme which comprises of 28 bungalows in Skelton Road, Skelton Close and Rectory Meadow in Diss. Four of which belong to The Church Provocial Council.

Oak Tree Place is located in Diss and consists of 28 bungalows and is managed by a team of non-resident scheme managers. Each unit is fitted with a communication system which allows two-way speech between the manager and the resident. For emergency use, pull cords are fitted in every room in the bungalows and residents are also issued with an individual pendant. When the scheme manager is off duty, any emergency calls will be answered by an external call centre which is managed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Situated close to Victoria Road we have access to supermarkets, shops, chemists, banks, Post Office, library and the health centre which is approximately half a mile away.

All bungalows have gardens to the front and rear, and are the responsibility of the tenant. Each bungalow has a lounge, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and a small hall. Laundry facilities are available and are free for residents use.

Hairdressers and a mobile library call on-site, there are also plenty of books kept in the communal lounge. Three days a week we have an afternoon club playing cards, board games or dominoes, always with a cup of tea and a biscuit.There are outings during the year and fortnightly lunch club.
