Your questions answered

Key housing with care questions answered.

I am living on my own but my health is not good and I want to move, would Housing with Care be a good option for me?

Yes. Housing with Care has a mix of tenants. Some get a lot of support / care whilst others do not require as much. The accommodation should be easy for you to look after.

I already live in Sheltered Housing, how would Housing with Care be different?

Care / support staff are based on site 24 hours a day. There is a restaurant for those who want to use it as well as social and other activities and facilities. There is a mix of tenants with different support needs with different types of accommodation available to suit the individual.

What happens if my health deteriorates with I am in Housing with Care?

We understand peoples needs change over time, not always for the worse! There may be times when you require extra care and support or perhaps a mixture of the two. The care / support staff will be sensitive in asking you about your needs. They cannot give you nursing care but they will aim to support you to stay living in the same place.

My doctor said I should go into a home. What are the advantages of Housing with Care compared to a care home?

The main advantage is that you will be in your own home, not be in a home. You control your finances and can choose how much you socialise with other residents. You can keep to your usual routines and activities in the local area.
