Norfolk Housing Alliance is a forum for social housing providers in Norfolk.
Norfolk Housing Alliance is a forum for social housing providers in Norfolk, made up of the largest housing associations and the two stock-holding councils. The Alliance exists to promote and share best practice in housing. It has also proved a valuable meeting place for other partners – social services, audit commission, police etc – to address or consult the leading social housing providers on matters of common concern.
The impetus which brought us together was the desire to assist councils to fulfil their statutory obligations towards homeless people. This desire was embodied in our publication “Forward Thinking” (2007) which laid out our intentions and actions to support the councils.
The Alliance was active during 2009 in piloting local standards for the Tenants Service Authority (TSA) in Terrington St Clement. The pilot focused on reducing anti-social behaviour through partnership working between the residents, police, local authorities and housing associations.
In early 2010 the Alliance produced an annual review designed to showcase the work carried out by housing associations in Norfolk. Although our landlord duties are our main activity, the emphasis of the annual review was on the other activities housing associations perform.
